Divine Call News 2024-2025 - 5/8/25 Update

Calls received by current Luther Prep faculty

John Boggs has received a divine call issued by the synod's Board of Ministerial Education to serve as a Regional Ministry Recruitment Counselor. Regional Ministry Counselors are new positions in the WELS funded by a donor for four years with the sole purpose of bringing more WELS people into the public ministry of WELS.

In this new position, John Boggs would be taking the leading role in working with all RMCs. We pray the Lord blesses John as he deliberates this new call and his current call to LPS. 5/8/25

Call accepted

	Phil Schroeder has accepted the call to serve as a professor at Luther Prep. We pray the Lord's blessings on him and his family as he transitions from parish ministry to Luther Prep, and ask the Lord of the Church to provide for his people at Peace Lutheran Church in O'Fallon, IL. 12/2/24

	Ryan Finkbeiner has accepted his call to serve as a professor at Luther Prep. We pray that the Lord will bless his remaining months at Mount Lebanon Lutheran School, and that the same gracious Lord provides Mount Lebanon with a principal according to his plans. 11/17/24

	Instructor Luke Schultz has returned his call to serve at St. Marcus and has accepted his call to serve at St. Peter Lutheran School in Appleton, WI as a 6th-grade homeroom teacher and teach departmentalized 5th and 6th-grade English and Social Studies. We pray the Lord blesses Luke's last months at Luther Prep and blesses his upcoming ministry at St. Peter. 11/06/24

	Annie Gumm has accepted the call to serve as a Spanish professor at Luther Prep. We pray that the Lord blesses her continued service at St. Mark's for the coming months and that he provides a teacher for their lambs according to his good purposes.11/10/24

Call returned

	Andrew Hussman has returned his call to serve as an associate pastor at St. Paul's in Beverly Hills, FL. We pray that the Lord continues to bless Andrew's ministry at Luther Prep and that he fills the needs at St. Paul according to his gracious plans. 12/13/24

	Kyle Bitter has returned his call to St. Paul's in Saginaw. We pray the Lord fills the pastoral need at St. Paul's according to his good purposes and time. We pray the Lord continues to bless Kyle's ministry at Luther Prep. 12/02/24

	Professor Ben Ewings has returned the call to teach life sciences and coach at Winnebago Lutheran Academy. We are pleased to have Ben continuing to serve here at Luther Prep. We pray that our Lord in his grace continues to bless Ben's ministry and his family. 11/04/24

	Prof. Tim Wrobel has returned the call to serve at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School to teach English 9, English 10, and Speech, and to help with two extracurricular activities. We pray that the Lord continues to bless Tim's ministry at Luther Prep. 2/26/25

	Andrew Hussman has returned his call to serve as associate pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Morrison, WI. We pray the Lord continues to bless Andrew's ministry at Prep and are confident he already has in his plans the man who will be the next pastor at Zion Lutheran to serve the saints there. 3/24/25

	Emily Grunwald has returned her call to serve at Divine Savior in Doral, FL. We pray the Lord continues to bless Emily's ministry at Luther Prep and her family. 04/07/25

	Ben Ewings has returned his call to serve at Divine Savior in Doral, FL. We pray our Lord continues to bless Ben, his ministry, and his family here at Prep. 04/8/25

	Professor Steve Vasold has returned his call to serve as a teacher at MVL. We pray the Lord continues to bless Steve's ministry at Prep. 04/24/25

	Dean Vannieuwenhoven has returned his call to Hope Christian Academy. We pray and are confident that our Lord will continue to bless his ministry at Prep and fill the need at HCA according to his good plans. 4/29/25
