Athletic Event Information Updates
Leading up to away events, we are often given entrance, streaming, and other information. As this information about athletic events is shared, we add that information here:
LPS Athletics Schedules
Pastor Souksamay Phetsanghane has received a divine call to serve as pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church in South Windsor, CT. We will keep Souk and Liesel in our prayers as he deliberates.
The LPS Governing Board called Pastor Brad Krause to serve as Dean of Students at Luther Prep. Brad currently teaches at Fox Valley Lutheran High School. We will keep Pastor Krause and his family in our prayers as he deliberates the call.
This year the ski trip will be on Monday, February 9. This will save everyone on rates and allow us to try a different and bigger hill: Cascade Mountain (near Madison). While many students will appreciate that this mountain is larger and offers more variety than Little Switzerland, there are still plenty of "green" (easy) runs from top to bottom, as well as an extensive beginner area for those new to skiing/snowboarding. Come along and give it a try!
Lift tickets are $30. Ski or snowboard rentals are an additional $30.

The Sadie Hawkins dance is on Saturday, January 31! If you are able to help our dance committee with decorating, chaperoning, or providing treats, please sign up here.
Dance tickets can be purchased January 22-29 in the Mission Advancement and Business Offices during school hours or online.
Students who wish to bring a guest from another school must have a completed guest form returned to Dean Schroeder by January 26.
You are invited to join us March 13, 14, and 15 for the musical adaptation of The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Tickets will go on sale February 3rd. More information can be found at lps.wels.net/musical
Save the date: Saturday, April 18th, 2026 Mark your calendar and get ready! Join us in person or via livestream for our annual Lives Prepared event—an inspiring evening that brings our Prep family together.
Get involved now and help make this year’s event unforgettable! There are several meaningful ways you can take part - go here to see how!
The projected cost of a new Music Center, which will take the place of our 113-year-old auditorium, is estimated to be $16Million. When Prep reaches an $11.2Million total in gifts and commitments, we will seek permission from WELS Synodical Council to put a shovel in the ground, knowing we still will need to receive an additional $4.8Million in gifts to complete the project.
As of today, through the generosity of God’s people in WELS, Prep has received $7.8M in gifts and commitments. We are most grateful.
Much information about the planned project and the need for it can be found on Prep’s website under Magnify Music Center Campaign. lps.wels.net/magnify
We invite our readers to contribute to the Music Center and share the information with others as they have the opportunity.
We look forward to seeing what our Lord has in store for the completion of this needed facility.
“Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music.” β Martin Luther

The open enrollments for the 3 Wisconsin Parental Choice Programs begin on February 2. Because the school district enrollment cap has ended, there are many changes coming for Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) for the next school year. The Milwaukee and Racine programs haven’t changed.
One of the biggest changes involves the open enrollment which used to run from February through the middle of April. The DPI would then do the random drawing to determine who would receive a voucher. That choice no longer exists. The WPCP will have monthly random drawings, and each school chooses which open enrollments it wants to participate in, much like in the Milwaukee and Racine programs.
For the WPCP, Luther Prep has chosen to participate in the February 2-20, April 1-20, May 1-20, June 1-22, July 1-20, and August 1-20 open enrollments. Milwaukee (MPCP) and Racine (RPCP) open enrollments are February, April, and July. We encourage all of our families to apply in February if possible.
Families must submit all verification paperwork during the open enrollment in which they apply. At the end of each open enrollment, LPS, not the DPI, will inform the family if it receives a voucher. The family will have to let us know if it accepts the voucher. LPS will make sure that we have plenty of vouchers available. We will submit the child's name to the DPI if a voucher is accepted.
Here is the link to the Online Parent Application: https://dpi.wi.gov/choice ALL FAMILIES MUST COMPLETE THE APPLICATION EACH YEAR.
