Weekly Results 05/15/26

On Friday night the Luther Prep track and field teams competed at the Lutheran Invitational Track Meet hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. Also competing at this meet were Fox Valley Lutheran, Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Lakeside Lutheran, Winnebago Lutheran, Shoreland Lutheran, Kingdom Prep Lutheran, and Illinois Lutheran. Our girls team finished in 4th place as a team and our boys finished in 2nd. Complete results of the meet can be found here.
“This meet is one of a handful of meets where we prioritize team score. I was very pleased with how our team handled that shift in priority, whether it was pushing through an extra event, or trying a new event for the first time, or running a race strategy that prioritized team score ahead of personal best performances. The boys 1600 and 3200 in particular became very strategic races that were highly entertaining to watch. We scored points with almost all of our entries on both teams and finished about where we expected to finish in this field.”
The Phoenix compete next on Tuesday, 5/12 at the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invitational Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.

On Tuesday night the Luther Prep track and field teams competed at the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invitational hosted by Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. Also competing at this meet were Chesterton Academy, Eastbrook Academy, Heritage Christian, Lakeside Lutheran, Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Living Word Lutheran, Martin Luther (Greendale), Milwaukee North, University Lake, and Waterford. The meet was cancelled early due to inclement weather, but after 15 events our boys were in second and our girls were in sixth. Results of the 15 events that were contested can be found here.
“This meet was a tuneup for conference competition next week with many athletes running a lighter schedule of events. I was happy with what we accomplished in that regard. I was also pleasantly surprised to see our boys sitting in 2nd place late in the meet, and had we finished all events I think we might have been able to come away with the win. Our 4x400 meter athletes had all done other events already, but I feel bad for our 3200 meter runners who waited all day but then were warming up (boys) or on the starting line (girls) when the weather delay that led to cancellation hit. Disappointing, but adapting to unexpected developments is a valuable skill for athletes to practice. Our attention as a team is turning toward the Conference Championship coming up next week."
The Phoenix compete next on Tuesday, 5/19 at the Midwest Classic Conference Championship hosted by Brookfield Academy.

LPS Golfers Shine in Second Place Finish at West Bend CC
Playing at the site of this year's State Amateur Tournament- West Bend CC- The LPS golf team had their best finish in several years, finishing second overall in the MCC Conference Match. LPS Junior Caleb Fitzsimmon's 42 was good for 3rd overall on the challenging course, and Senior Anders Olson garnered top ten honors by finishing ninth with a 44.
