Applying to LPS
Application for enrollment at LPS may be made at any time during the year preceding the start of school. To assist us in our planning, we ask that applications be made as soon as possible. There is no application fee. Parents can complete applications onlineAfter an application is submitted, you will receive follow up communication from our admissions department. We will also send recommendation forms to your pastor and the grade school principal and request the most recent report card and scores from any standardized test. Prior to to acceptance, students will complete the High School Placement Test (HSPT). This test is administered at LPS. The dates for the test will be shared in the follow up communication. For those who cannot make it to LPS for the test, we will arrange for the test to be administered near your home. After you are accepted, you will receive information about financial assistance and other details to prepare you for the start of school.
Non-discrimination Policy
In keeping with the scriptural truth that the Lord has directed his church to proclaim the gospel to all nations, and, since God has not restricted the ministry of his church to any one particular group, Luther Preparatory School cannot and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disability, or national/ethnic origin in its admission procedures, educational policies, scholarship grants, and co-curricular programs.
Application Requirements
If you are applying for admission to Luther Prep you must be a member of a WELS or ELS congregation or must be in process of becoming a member.
If you are transferring into the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, ask your current school to send your high school transcript to LPS. Transfer students are not required to take the placement test.
Once you have been accepted, you will be asked to furnish other information, such as health records and various types of parental permission forms. You will also receive information during the summer regarding housing, meals, and dormitory policies.
All students must be current in their required immunizations or have a signed waiver prior to the start of the school year.
LPS requests that the school be notified as soon as possible if a student who has applied decides to attend school elsewhere.
