Post High School Preparation

During their time at LPS, students will consider how to use their God-given gifts and pursue their interests after graduation. LPS supports its students in this area through providing guidance that will be beneficial to the post high school plan decision making process.

 

The student guidance document is utilized by academic advisors to direct discussion when they meet with their advisees. Students update their own guidance document during their four years on campus. They will share this document in their senior year with those who will be writing recommendations for them to attend college or pursue a scholarship or grant.

 

Your child’s academic advisor focuses on his or her academic progress while at LPS. They are not considered full time guidance counselors in the traditional sense. They are more than willing to discuss how your child will use their gifts in pursuit of their post high school plans. Students considering colleges other than MLC are encouraged to meet with the Academic Dean to receive further guidance and support, as needed.
