Governing Board Approves New Position

At its Winter meeting, the Luther Prep School Governing Board approved a new position at school, that of Director of Ministry Relations (DMR).  Professor John Boggs has been asked to take on that duty. Currently, the DMR is an approximately half-time position, with Professor Boggs continuing to teach three sections of freshmen OT bible history, coach, and work with our students and Martin Luther College in several areas for encouragement toward the public gospel ministry.  Throughout the rest of this calendar year, Professor Boggs will continue to develop and fine tune the DMR position, reporting to the Governing Board at their Fall meeting.

The stated purpose of this new position is to "advance the ministry of Luther Prep School by building awareness to what LPS has to offer congregations, schools, and families throughout WELS."  By visiting with pastors, teachers, church leaders, and families throughout the Synod, by preaching, presenting and representing LPS in various ways, the intent is to grow understanding and appreciation that Luther Prep is not just a place for teenagers who know they want to be pastors and teachers someday, but for everyone who is willing to be encouraged to use their gifts to God's glory throughout their lives on earth.
