Luther Prep forensics takes 2nd place at DeForest Invite

DEFOREST ‐‐ The Luther Preparatory School forensics team had yet another successful tournament on Saturday, January 26. They braved double digit negative temperatures to go compete at the DeForest Invite. LPS had seven finalists. Sophomore duo Lydia Lindemann and Staci Scharf took 3rd in Duo Interp and senior duo Grace Brown and Sophie took 1st in Duo Interp. Senior Katie Kopplin had another strong showing in Solo Humorous Acting receiving 5th place. Grace Brown entered in two categories this past Saturday, and in addition to her Duo Interp trophy, Grace received 4th in Special Occasion Speaking. Lastly sophomore Emma Lau placed 4th in Storytelling.
Luther Prep placed 2nd in the small teams division (1-16 entries) in last Saturday’s tournament with 15 entries based on average points per entry.
Luther Prep placed 7th overall out of 24 teams based on total number of points earned by the team. This was LPS’s third competition of the season.
The Luther Preparatory School forensics team will next compete at the Capitol Conference Forensics Tournament on Monday, February 4 hosted by Columbus High School.
Luther Preparatory School is an independent coeducational preparatory school in Watertown, Wisconsin. The continuing mission and purpose of Luther Preparatory School is to prepare and encourage young men and women for the full time ministry in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
