BEAVER DAM ‐‐ The Luther Preparatory School forensics team had a successful tournament at Beaver Dam High School this past Saturday, February 9, 2019. LPS had nine finalists out of 14 entries. Senior Katie Kopplin placed first in both farrago and solo humorous acting. Senior Jacob Schwark took first in storytelling, and seniors Grace Brown and Sophie Thompson received third in play acting. Brown double entered in special occasion speaking and received first as well. Sophomore Emma Lau double entered in storytelling and impromptu speaking and received second and fifth, respectively. Sophomore Ryan Boggs made his debut in the finals this season receiving third in solo humorous acting.
Luther Prep placed first in the medium school’s division where rank is determined by average points per entry. The team place third overall in team sweepstakes out of 12 teams. For team sweepstakes, total points per team is used to determine rank.The LPS forensics team will next compete at the Fort Forensics Tournament in Fort Atkinson next Saturday, February 16.
