Project Timothy was begun in 1993 as an effort to provide students
with a ministry experience in a home or world mission field.
The
purpose of the program is to expose students to cross-cultural mission
work, to enable students to gain personal experience in the work of a
mission, and to provide them with a positive encouragement to continue
their training for the public ministry. Project Timothy is also
designed to assist mission congregations in their outreach programs.
Student volunteers have traveled to Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominican
Republic, Puerto Rico, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Peru, Latvia, Grenada,
Mexico, El Paso, New York City, Raleigh, Myrtle Beach, San Diego, and
Atlanta.
Project Timothy is funded through the school's budget,
through contributions by student participants, and through the generous
gifts of individuals and organizations.
